Calvin acts the spiritual guy, and Hobbes his pragmatism. I could immidiately relate with this strip. I remember how in IIT I had spent eons trying to figure out something abstract while I could have just steered myself through the smaller obstacles. I love how even after banging himself Calvin seems oblivious.

Guess that is what human nature is, trying to reason out the abstract avoiding the mundane problems of everyday life. Guess that is what I am doing right now when I should probably be sleeping or writing my SOP :D. Like Hobbes "I too choose crazy"
